About
“So, friends, take a firm stand, feet on the ground and head high. Keep a tight grip on what you were taught, whether in personal conversation or by our letter. May Jesus himself and God our Father, who reached out in love and surprised you with gifts of unending help and confidence, put a fresh heart in you, invigorate your work, enliven your speech” (2 Thessalonians 2:15).
First and foremost, I am a child of God, the Creator of this beautiful universe that displays His glory everywhere I turn. I am also a wife and mother who has felt called to stand on Truth and “do all for the glory of God.” I am not a great public speaker. My personality is not so charismatic that I draw crowds of people to me when I open my mouth. I am, however, passionate about writing. My prayer is that I write in such a way that people are changed, and are drawn into a relationship with Jesus Christ.
I am also very passionate about our great country, the issues that threaten America’s greatness and the issues that keep her going strong. I believe that we are called to be in this world, but not of it. Sometimes that command causes us to speak up when we would rather shut up, stand up when we would rather sit down, and stand for truth when we would rather join the masses.
This blog is about those passions. Our culture is becoming increasingly intolerant of absolute truth and anyone who claims to guide their life by it. Standing on Truth was born out of my desire to open up for discussion the issues that are in the news and on our hearts, and to unapologetically stand FOR truth at every turn, but also to stand ON truth as a foundation for these discussions–as God’s Truth is the basis for how I view the rest of the world.
Standing on Truth also includes my passion for parenting, nutritional living, and marriage. I have a 5 year old son, have been married for nearly twice that, and have a master’s degree in holistic nutrition which I use every day in feeding those I love, knowing our bodies are “a temple of the Holy Spirit” (I Corinthians 6:19). I write to learn, discuss, teach, and encourage. Join me here at Standing on Truth . . . thoughts on Christianity, conservatism, and our culture.
